Occupational Health and Safety is given a lot of importance at TPSODL. The Company undertakes numerous initiatives to ensure the working environment is safe and the workforce is happy and healthy. In addition to ensuring that all necessary safety precautions are in place to prevent injuries, TPSODL undertakes various initiatives for the physical and mental well-being of its workforce. These measures were scaled up phenomenally when the COVID 19 pandemic was at its peak and these measures continue to be adopted to safeguard health and safety at work. Some of these initiatives are listed below.
- Regular thermal scanning, oximeter reading, sanitization of office, guesthouse premises and vehicles, use of double masks has been made mandatory across establishments.
- Doctors Speak Series was being regularly organized in collaboration with the TATA Power Doctors.
- A 25-bedded Covid Care Centre has been made operational at Berhampur.
- Emergency Support Task Force (ESTF) has been constituted at corporate, circle and division levels. All the committees are functioning actively.
- Regular evening meetings with the members of the Task Force members was organized to review the Covid Situation and strategize action plan.
- Four dedicated ambulances were deployed at different strategic locations to render services to the employees and associates. The contact details of nodal officers were widely published across our ecosystem.
- Surgical and cotton (washable) masks and face shields to all regular, outsourced employees and SSG groups.
- Sanitizers, Masks, Face shields and Immunity boosters were distributed to PHCs and urban poor with the help of District Police Authorities.
- A dedicated team of volunteers was constituted to supply essential commodities to the home quarantined employees/associates.
- Six Oxygen Concentrators have been procured for the use of employees and associates.
- A dedicated HR officer takes health feedback from all the affected people on daily basis and necessary supports being provided to the needy employees.
- An Employee Handbook on Covid-19 has been circulated among all employees.
- Distribution of 100 PPE kits to medical and paramedical staff.
- Distribution of 500 filter based SHG-95 masks, sanitizers and immunity boosters to urban poor, with the help of District Police & Medical Authorities.
- Distributed 10 oxygen concentrators and 500 N-95 masks to City Hospital Berhampur.
Special Vaccination Drive is being conducted for all employees, dependents and BAs in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals in June 2021.
